Dead.net has posted the info about this year's event - Thursday, July 17 at 7:30 - a listing of the theaters is here:
http://www.fathomevents.com/event/grateful-dead-meet-up-at-the-movies-2014

The film is supposed to be over 80 minutes, so it'll be more complete than the E72 CD. (Maybe it'll have the soundcheck, or more banter.)

Sad news:
"We have no plans to release this concert on DVD or home video of any kind, so don't miss out on what could be your only chance to see it!"

I love this 'new' annual tradition; having purchased E72 complete, an official video release isn't necessary for me, just the yearly get together with the 12 or so peeps that show up every 360-odd days here in eastern KY...thank goodness someone in theatre management is (apparently) a Head of some tie-dyed shade! Woot!/k

Would love to see it . My guess that it will be just too far .
It's funny that they use a picture from 1970 (?) with Mickey, and, of course , no Keith, and Donna . You think they could have got one form the correct year .

I think I'd rather invite people over to my house to watch some of the hundreds of hours of GD video that I already have access to than drive 40 minutes to see this. I can't believe they can't find a single movie screen in DC to screen this on.

Hey Rhino! Let me know if you want to do it in my backyard. I'll hang a sheet on the back of the house!

Last year our nearest theatre couldn't get the movie to play and had a near mini hippie riot.
They gave everyone free movie passes plus refunds on food and beverages.
Could have gone to Tampa to see our local dead band UNCLE JOHN'S BAND but the wife not a dead head to begin with.

Yeah the "We have no plans..." Well, why the hell not?. I don't understand why this will see the light of day just once and then back to the vault. Fuck Rhino and whoever else makes these lame decisions.
